Well, I'd recommend an AK-74 or 47. You can probably get one from some Mexican arms dealer in California. Of course, violence is never the answer unless you have been asked with violence.

As for Mexicans taking over America, it might resonate with some Ancient Mexican Secret Goal, but it's not going to happen. They might eat up a lot of the unskilled/labor jobs, but I think the worst that that will bring about is more Mexican-oriented laws. Which makes sense to me, if Mexicans make up an increasing percentage of the populace there.

I have to deal with Mexicans every single day, but luckily I know how to understand Spanish pretty well, and generally I can convey what I mean back to them.

What pisses me off are racists who think that they're automatically better than somebody. Mexicans are born that way, but racists learned their behavior, so they're actually worse people, and probably deserve to be beaten with sticks.

A good place to get cheap beating sticks is a lumberyard, or if you're really feeling adventurous, the woods. I recommend something made out of oak or maple. Cut it to about half your standing height so you can get a good swing going with it.

If you don't agree, try measuring a culture by what it has achieved in terms of education of it's people and the relative level of comfort they live in.

This topic interests me because people feel very strongly about it, and the 'right answer' is apparent to any educated civilized person, yet there are ingrained, natural responses in us that sketch out a deep-seated tendency toward racism, or, more precisely, an exclusive preference for ones own kind.

For example, have you ever noticed a large flock of birds separating themselves by color? Keep an eye out for it. It's part of us, I think, no matter how much we shake our fingers at each other and say 'BAD!'

I suppose it'd be nice in a lot of respects to get away from certain aspects of our animal nature -- particularly the fearful parts -- but I submit that it is humanly impossible to do so. It's what we are. We have millennia of genetic and cultural history tying us to it. We have brain structures that echo it and provide the basis for a metric assload of ingrained responses to things like aggression, territorialism, etc.

There is no perfectly rational human being.

I find myself more predjudiced against the ignorant, violent, and lazy than any color or cultural unit. A person (or group) that impresses me with poorly constructed speach (yo' bonics), ghetto emulation clothing, or an attitude of general sociopathology is on my shit list from the get-go. I try to keep an open mind, but in real life I tend to gravitate towards other well educated middle-class whire folks. I have more in common and less fear. Does that mean I don't like the flood of Wetbacks? Absolutely. But not for the sake of race or citizenship. What tends to put me off is the general combination of 'Mexican Pride' and the 'Hey, you owe me' attitude. On the other hand, I have a number (well, three, but that's a number too) of mexican friends that are hard working and educated. They haven't been transformed into brown White Folks. They just have made an effort to fit into the society that exists at large in the US. The immigrants that TRY aren't the problem.

In my haste to play 'devil's advocate' I realize that I may have come across as 'preachy asshole who makes statements that lead to circular arguements'. On further introspection I realize that, for the sake of this discussion, the parameters that measure greatness have not been defined clearly.

Only the most vulgar and doctrinaire democrat would seriously equate greatness with popularity -- although in any polling of average citizens on their choice for the greatest culture in the history of time there are certain to be substantial numbers of votes for the unique cultures of the United States, Rome, Greece, Babylon, Japan, China and various others.

More serious citizens would pass by the lightweights and choose cultures which have changed the world in some way. depending on whether one's personal inclinations lay more in the direction of politics, science, or racial self-abasement.

In my humble opinion a culture's greatness is measured by it's charity and tolerance, how it extends to members of it's own culture, and others.

Very true, but my point is that it is possible to have no opinions, or to not be influenced those opinions even when you have long familiarity with something. It's the whole 'be here now' thing that lots of new agey people pay lip service to but never seem to achieve.
