I don't think this situation was any cooler than you do, but WTF are we supposed to do if we can't use rational (if subjective) observations?

Most of the guys that were supposudly involved in the 9-11 hijacking (ie. ones that flew the planes into the buildings and died a fiery death) are still alive and well in different parts of the country.

This story is the same all over the country. A friend of a friend during the G8 here is Slowvannah had to go through the same shit just for walking around and taking some pictures.

The Pentagon has 1.3 trillion dollars in money that just turned up missing. You wanna know were some of that money is going? Militarizing the police and giving them tanks and APC's. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution has and is being disembowled. If people don't wake up and stand up against this kind of shit, the country become more and more like Nazi Germany : "Ver are your papers?"

If you can't make up your mind about what really happened at the WTC's then look at what happened at the Pentagon. After you do some investigating you'll see the head of the turtle belonging to a much bigger body of shit. Anyone look at the Pentagon and the plane that supposedly hit it. Look at the wreckage images and ask yourself this.

Many years ago there was a man named McCarthy who was convinced that the threat of commies into this noble land of ours was so great that he went out of his way to make sure that all potential commies were weeded out. A local newspaper here adopted a strange policy about two years ago. They stopped reporting the possible race of unknown suspects given by eyewitnesses in blotter reports and crime stories. Who's best interest does that serve? If I need to be on the lookout for a male, 5'10', 180lbs, in a blue hat, it might be helpful to know if that person is white, black, Hispanic, Asian, or middle-eastern. Help me narrow down the fuking field a little, is all I'm saying.

The fact is, all 19 hijackers on 9/11 were of middle eastern decent. Zaccarias Moussoui, the so-called 20th hijacker; also of middle-eastern descent. Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, and a whole parade of middle eastern religious fuktards have declared jihadon the United States. Just in case you're either from South Haven, Indiana, or you just lean to the left (politically speaking, that is), I'll spell it out for you: Arabs want to hurt us, and that's a bummer. I'll be the first to admit that that sucks for the fine, law abiding citizenry of the US who also happen to be of middle eastern descent, and I'm personally sorry for any future inconveniences that they may or may not be forced to suffer. I DON'T CARE. At the end of the day, I just want our families to be safe, including the families of the potentially inconvenienced. Until someone comes up with a better way or builds a terrorist detector, I'm for whatever increases the efficacy of our efforts to keep ourselves free of terrorism.

My kids are all draft age. This does directly affect my family. And I agree with both MG and Clav. Because of the actions of our administration both past and current, Middle Easterners and Others are pissed as hell and want to hurt us. And so are teenagers and poor people and minorities. It's hard to know which ones to oppress first. I would say it makes sense to go with the group that is best funded, educated, and currently in crisis. I've read every 9/11 conspiracy theory I can get my hands on. It started with the Find The Boeing website. I was instantly intrigued, and kept digging. I soon realized that to my dismay, most of the postulations that have been made don't stand up to my standards of logic and reasoning. Most of them go something like this; 'The President looked downward and to his right at precisely 10:27AM...this IRREFUTABLY PROVES that he was complicit in the 9/11 attacks!!!' Or, 'This little squiggle right HERE, on this grainy piece of shit video, is PROOF that the planes that hit the towers were windowless drones, remote controlled by the Pentagon, and equipped with pods and missiles, to hit a building that 3 pages back I already proved was pre-set with demolition charges. Why, if the building was prewired, they needed the pods and missiles I don't know...but I FOUND THEM!!!!!'

I've looked at that video. I've looked at it a lot. I've seen it frame by frame. I've seen it blown up, sped up, slowed down, and color inverted. I've seen it forward and backward. I don't see any fuking pods and missiles. Reading ten more theories about it probably won't make me see them, either.

Let us get a couple of things straight, you and me:

1) I read. A lot. Newspapers, magazines, books, , the back of cereal boxes, scrawlings on bathroom walls. I'm a freak for the written word.

2) I care. I keep up to date on a million subjects; current events, politics, pop culture, technology, child rearing, Quantum Theory, economics, and phalaenopsis, to name a few. A regular Renaissance man, I am.

3) I have a fuking clue. I've been a fan of critical thinking since I was a child. I'm college educated. I have a relatively wide circle of friends with whom I engage in discussion and debate, sharing my ideas, and assimilating new ones from them. I regularly attend Mensa meetings. I travel extensively, interacting with other people and cultures.

I don't think any of those things qualifies me as an 'escapist'. I think an escapist is one who choses to see the world from only one canned viewpoint, regurgitating material written by others, rather than formulating their own opinions and ideas. I could be wrong...I'm open minded enough to consider that possibility.

I am also not an apologist...whatever that might mean to you, as it seemed a little out of context within the sentence in which you used it. I'm guessing you read it somewhere and decided it sounded like an intelligent insult to be used against those who dare challenge your asshattery.
