Cosby went off on another tirade against the black community Thursday, telling a room full of activists that black children are running around not knowing how to read or write and 'going nowhere.'
Although I have very little exposure to the Urban Negro (we had a black man in town once; he worked at the bank), I have seen them on TV. I am amazed at the abuse of the American language. 'Axe' me about it. My wife and I sometimes end up on the floor laughing so hard at the people on Judge Mathis and their clever dialects. If not for the miracle of closed captioning (a must for an old rocker like me) I wouldn't have a clue as to what they're trying to say. Right on, Mr. Pudding Pop! It's the first time I've had real respect for him since he was on 'I Spy' with Robert Culp.
he's just stiring up controversy for his new TV show on TV Land..... isnt it funny how celebrities always show up in the media for controversial reasons, right when they have something new to promote?
I think it really shines a light on all the crap guys like Sharpton and Jackson *don't* address...rather, they address it from the standpoint of 'hey, you didn't X' or 'you oughta Y'...to help them out. Cosby's message is a fresh dose of personal responsibility...come to think of it, there are more than a few people who need this.
