Comedy is about taking relavent sociatal issues that scare the fuck out of everyone and presenting them in a way that provokes thought and awareness to inspire change. The fact that we laugh shows the dire need for release of tensions and stresses from these subjects. People who won't listen to intelligent humour are afraid to deal with their own inner demons on a face to face basis. Chappell makes people uncomfortable with his observations. That's why asshats take the least important facets of his skills and throw them up his face to shut him up. They don't want to hear the truth so they flap out meaningless noise to drown it out.
