True Story.

My father was a peace officer, sworn to serve and protect. These people are law enforcement officers, sworn to control and oppress.

Perhaps a related story:

Some local rednecks, up where my mom is an EMT, have been shooting at fire trucks as they pass through town during a response.

Now, when a call comes in from that piece of white trash country, all the fire trucks and ambulances wait on the edge of town until the state troopers show up to escort them.

Sometimes they're are an hour away.

We all laugh about it quite a bit now.

'Another trailer burnt to the ground last night. The owner had a heart attack while trying to put it out with buckets of pond water. It took the troopers only 45 minutes to drive 30 miles of back roads to get to us for the escort. The guy was dead about 20 minutes before we got there.'
