Gee, the landlord kicked them out and all they did was destroy the building. As if he wasn't already under pressure from code enforcement and liability, now HE's the asshole for having his property trashed. Such gratitude.

Well if it collapsed on its own and the landlord didn't give them a chance to fix it: He's an Asshole.

If they destroyed it, then he did the right thing. I'm thinking the former.

I hate to be the Devil's Advocate (love being the Devil, though) but I have rental properties and have been through a number of 'trying to be the nice guy' and having my building trashed. Most of the time the tenants get carried away in a youth activity oriented commercial business. It's in their nature to play rough and without consequence. That's what makes it fun: you can't do that at home, boy. If it collapsed from rain or other structural misintegraties, landlord sucks. If it came down from kids gathering on it or climbing on the inside, bummer, get out. Either way, there are far too few of these places for youth to play, and it's sad to see it go...
