I just watched episode ii the other day thinking the exact same thing. It has occured to me that not only has the 2 movies sucked... but they sucked so much that i have lost interest in the originals. Lucas has already destroyed star wars... i dont see that he can do anything to make the third one better.

Spielberg is much worse... he writes trailer trash crap movies... we need someone that understands geeks... someone like david lynch... dune is one of the best scifi movies made..look at how shitty Ai was... movie was crap... and he had a start from kubrick... i mean.. if he can fuck that up... then he sure would fuck up starwars... his time was in the 80s... thats all.

the only way to actually make the third one better is to invent a time machine... hire an assassin.. kill lucas. Someone else would have eventually made the sequels... and anyone would have made it better.

Lynch is awesome, but I'm not sure about Star Wars though. I don't think there's anything to be saved from the piles of shit that have come out. I just try to convince myself that the prequels have nothing to do with the original series. Lucas needs to take a seat and get the guy that directed Empire Strikes Back. Also replace most of the cast. Now that I think about it Lynch would be good.

seems like all sequels lately are just killing the originals.. from starwars to the matrix to other ones.. aside from LotR I havent seen a good sequel(s)...
