There is something that just doesn't sound right here. the story might be a hoax. People who raise animals like spiders and lizards are very careful to keep the cages closed. One or two animals might get loose but never all of them at once.
Also, black widow bites are not instantly fatal in humans. In fact they are rarely fatal at all to healthy adults. In OZ the fuckers are all over the place and they almost never kill any one.
