This is very, very interesting...another step in the direction of corporate control over civil and poltical rights. Alot of social theorists argue that the state is becoming less and less important, and the usual functions of the state, like law-making and law-enforcement, are being farmed out, "privatized," to corporations as they grow more and more wealthy, and more and more powerful. It's no wonder Bush and Ashcroft seek to disembowel the Constitution - if they don't the corporate elite will. What effect do you suppose this trend has on real democratic control of our society?
