Uh... Maybe I'm missing something, because I've definitely kept my head in the sand concerning DRM and IP and all that boring shite... but WinAmp 5 on 2k3 refuses to let me play MP3s I've ripped from a CD. Did anyone else expect this?
Another sad day for NullSoft. They released WinAmp 3 to much furor, only to find out that pretty much ONLY video game kids and designers liked it, so much so that they had to put a link to WinAmp 2 right on the front page of their site. WinAmp 5 looks neato, especially with the media library, but if a webpage telling me to get licensing pops up next time I try to play an MP3, I'll go back to WinAmp 2, which has served me perfectly these past years.
