I had my 2 kids in Colorado, working for 12 bucks an hour, and the same county , Contra Costa knew I was getting squat from their mom for child support, but forced me to live for like 7 months on four dollars an hour, refused me the ability to find out if my psycho kid was mine or not (still don't know,). Then after the hearings, they refused to give me my money back. May the city of Martinez fall into the Sac River. The phone maze noted is a dead ended mess which I am sure was designed to humiliate and waylay any honest people trying to use it,to the point of just giving up. I had to end up calling my kids lawyer to get anything done. Doom on you, California DHS, you are full of fail.

With serious shit like this, you should be trying to deal with a clerk over the phone. Walk your lazy ass over to the court house and talk to a judge. Also, get a lawyer ASAP.

This happened to a friend of mine, however he was quick to go to the courthouse and fill out the paperwork and was told there would be a hearing. and they would contact him with the paperwork.

2 weeks into his 30 days, he called in as he had not gotten anything in the mail, only to get the runaround, He went to the courthouse and finds that they had 'lost' his paperwork. He filled it all out again then demanded reciepts and copies with the courts signature.

They refused

He was in the midst of a tirade and was not leaving the court office till they gave him recipts and copies (and by now demanding they give him a court date) that a lawyer from another case of this type happened to be walking by and took pity on him. and like magic the lawyer quoted some statute and demanded they comply or face a lawsuit (with him as him as a witness) that they finally relented and gave him the signed (stamped) paperwork that that had recieved it.

The woman at the desk growled something like ' almost got you fucker'

Yeah, it is THAT bad.
