Yay for Canadians, seriously.
I think it is worth keeping in mind a couple of things when it comes to the value of currency, however. 1. The Canadian dollar has slid below the value of a US dollar since July. 2. Even during this period when a loonie was more valuable than a US dollar, it's value compared to say, the Euro, continued to sink. So, it's all fine and good to say that Canadian money was, for a time, worth more than the greenback, but, compared to other leading currencies, it actually lost value. So, great, both our dollars lost value to the Euro, it's just the US one lost a little more for a time. Sadly, the US dollar has slid so far, that bragging that your currency is slightly more valuable is really not much bragging rights, I think.
Finally, this article didn't let me down in that in order to truly measure their success, Canadians feel compelled to compare themselves to Americans. How are those insecurity issues really going, eh?
