As far as The Godfather being the best movie of all time, well, I'm not sure about that either.

I think 'The Godfather' could have benefited from sonar sight tools.

As far as the wisdom of crowds goes - it breaks down once there is an agenda. Without random channels dug by shared random choices, the system becomes self aware. Also, half the people in any given crowd are statistically guaranteed to be pee-pants morons.

The wisdom of crowds keeps religions and political parties and Oprah going strong, so, you know, it's not nearly as nifty as the masturbatory 2.0 promoters would have you believe.

You hit on something with the 'self-aware' bit. The quest for a new definition of 'we' as an entity with goals fucks it all up.
