The Roasting Box is Commonly Referred to as a 'China-Box' but it seems to be more of a Cuban thing down here. The company is LaCaja Grills. Clicky I have the Model #2. The Pig on display was about 80lbs.

The roasting box comes out great every time and is pretty quick and predictable with the latter being most important. I remember going to more than one Pig Roast and having the Pig never finish. I started this one in the Box at 7:30am and it was Done by 1pm if not a little earlier. The instructions are printed right on the side of the box, you just keep adding coals on a schedule. I have found that its a good idea to buy extra coals and let it cook a good extra hour before you flip it. You can leave the head and feet on but for the benefit of the lady-types I took them off (place raw head in fridge behind the first row of beers for effect)

cool. good to have an option. we've been doing the rotisserie for years. Did a Hawaiian style pit one year (including one pitchfork-roasted rabbit while making the coals). Open fires aren't always an option though.

Did you get a Farm Pig or by the lb? Mine was expensive as hell from the butcher but I talked to a Brutha who said I should have taken a 30 min drive out to a pig farm for half price, you pick em they slit his thought (I guess you could work something out if you wanted to do it yourself too)

I got a farm pig.There are a shitload of farmers around here in Ashtabula,OH that raise pigs.The guy I usually go to is $1.10 per lb.,but he only had little tiny piglets,or #275 + pounders.I ended up paying $1.59 per pound on this one.
I waited too long before I decided to do the pig.

Yeah,they don`t give a shit if they sell you a live one or not.It depends on if you
feel like cleaning up the mess.I would do it in my backyard but there would be
blood all over the grass,and my dogs would go nuts over it.Being that my other
half owns a dog grooming business,she wouldn`t be very pleased grooming two
100+ pound dogs with pig blood all over them :-/
