I've known so many shitnecks that diagnose themselves with this I kinda write the whole syndrome off as 'asshole-ism'. I wonder just how many of these cases are the real deal and how many are just ill-adjused fuckos.

I know a couple of kids with this, it is a real syndrome. The current thinking is that it is related to, or a mild version of, autism. Think 'Rainman' for the full autism effect. We are yet to get it checked, but one of my sons is showing all the signs as well.
