Gasoline is pretty fuking dangerous. Especially when it's all over your skin and burning.
The air tanks are made from carbon fiber. AFAIK, the tanks have pre-manufactured fault lines along which they burst in an accident. Carbon fiber does not shard in an explosion like metal containers. Instead, it holds together everywhere but at the fault lines.
The worst thing that can happen in a carbon fiber tank rupture is that you will experience a mild shock wave, and only if you are close to the tank. Surely, it will be loud. If gasoline and air mix in right proportions, the shit will blow up with higher brissance, and more dangerously, you would burn.
