| | | | | | interesting, but are these six people the ones who originally uploaded the files/tracker, or just seeded? | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | uh, not really, it just says:
'a total of six individuals were arrested, all in connection with the uploading of pre-release music.'
so did they upload the original file/tracker, or participate in seeding/uploading?
i'm guessing they uploaded the tracker, or the police wouldn't have hunted 2 down for seeding a single album.
for an account of how torrents work slikki, check this out

| | | | | | | actually, it mentions uploading being the crime no fewer than three times:
'people had been arrested and deduced from our sources that this police action was taken against alleged pre-release uploaders'
'a total of six individuals were arrested, all in connection with the uploading of pre-release music.'
'two of the arrests are for the alleged uploading of a single album'
considering that a) the author never mentions their having downloaded the file from an uploaded tracker first, b) uploading is not a synonym for seeding and is only used in such a manner by dolts and nincompoops, and c) the author (being responsible for providing his audience with reliable, accurate, and non-misleading information) is torrentfreak's second top contributor and assumably proficient in torrent terminology allows me to ascertain that, holy fuck, the crime was uploading the tracker file.
sure, it's possible each of these six arrestees could have each been the one unfortunate seeder of a pre-release movie or album torrent and uploaded the entire file, but its fucking unlikely considering the nature of pre-releases has them being seeded by hundreds from infancy. you feel free to go on being right though.
| | | | | | | if you pulled your head out of your ass long enough to read the entire article, not once does it mention trackers or seeding, leading to personal supposition as to what the offenders were in involved in.
i had presumed personally, since uploading a file to a torrent indexing website can only mean a tracker file, that this was what the perpertrators had done, yet would have liked a little more official clarification on the article itself whether or not everyday torrent users like myself and others here were more or subsequently less at risk from prosecution.
not once did i say you were wrong and i was right, but you go right ahead with your best nocal impression and fuck it right up

and by this, are you proposing a pre-release movie/album/file is simultaneously hosted for seeding by 100's? admittidly it could be seeded initially by a few in a network or team, but as soon as you've uploaded a tiny bit of that coldplay album you've been wetting your pants over, you're one of them hundreds of seeders from infancy as well. it's part of the reason fake torrents have several hundred seeders, everyone starts dloading shrek 3 before knowing it's snakes on a plane, before anyone bar the host has 100% of the file, yet there's still 400 seeders on that fucker.

interesting because up until you said this, i was thinking he was basically explaining the answer to your question and you were being a baby
and then you went ahead and confirmed it for me
| | | | | | | Without reading too much of the fucking article, I took away that the arrested shits were the original sources (uploaders) of the pre-released tracks... so, at one point, they were seeders of the material. Sure, everyone else that leeched then seeded is a tad less guilty, but these original sources are the prize for the cops... as they obviously have connections within the industry to get their hands on materials.
Makes sense that the politzi would go after pre-release uploaders, as it is akin to infancide in the record industry.

| | | | | | | 'and as OiNK was the biggest source for pre-releases'
Nope. | | | |
| | | | | | | 'and as nocal was the biggest source of being a douche'
Yep. | | | |
| | | | | | | They nailed the leaks -- people who got albums out for free before they were available for sale. Presumably this is the biggest or most emotionally-significant impact on sales and those who love them. | | | |

| Sexual Asspussy | This is awesome.
This is the first pornsite I've found in years that I'd actually advertise to swarmers. When you first load it up, it looks just like every crappy scam site out there, except that it's real. It's huge, it's updated constantly, there's no spam, no popups, and no bullshit -- and it's completely free. When you sign up through that link above and respond to the confirmation email, I make a bit of loose change.
See what other swarmers have to say about it. People love this place, so I feel fine about sending you there and am confident you will enjoy boners.
