Yah except is it still a 'cow' egg once you've removed >99% of the cow DNA that's housed in the nucleus? Sure, there's that little strand of cow mitochondrial DNA remaining, but most of that is for mictochondrial proteins - nothing that will make your chimeric baby grow 4 stomachs and say moo.
I think that people need to keep a more open mind about this sort of science, rather than let the outspoken members dumbfuck right-wing organisations do their thinking for them (and I'm not including The Times in this; their particular article is probably one of the least sensationalist I've read this week, so bully for them).
