Aside from that, I've always been told that you should avoid plants in the wild unless you can absolutely positively identify them. Just because an animal can eat them doesn't mean that you can.

-ALL mushrooms are safe to eat.
-Poison Ivy only makes you itch if it gets on your skin, not if you eat it.
-Sleep on top of your food supply so bears can't smell it.
-Always poop within 10ft of your campsite.

-The more murky a water supply is, the more nutrients it has.
-Hide your sleeping bag in a cool, dark spot to keep it from filling up with spiders and whatnot.
-Offer food to local wildlife. Befriending them will pay off down the road.
