In my estimation one of the charms of Obama is that we know so little about him (we definitely know less about him than about Clinton), and I assume that this lack of knowledge, coupled with our tendency to fill in the missing information in an over-optimistic way is one of the reasons for the Obama love fest.

this is 100% right. and i think that there is some kind of bizarre political brilliance on obama's part for not disclosing more of what he believes.

What the fuck is up with this guy's face? He's not well served by the video format. All I can do is wonder if he's had plastic or reconstructive surgery and then but so why is his cheeks all youthful and his eyebrows all glassy and inconsistent and his mouth all stallone? Like basically total WTF-blackout instead of concentrating on what he's saying, which would be a lot easier if I could scan it in textform and not deal with these inconsequential but nonetheless dominating concerns.
