I support Ron Paul because he is the best canidate we have for president. If he did make racist comment in the past or had his name on some rascist-fagwhite newsletter I don't really give a fuck, because he represents my views better than any of the other 3 remaining candidates.
I do not agree with his immigration views. As I understand it the portion of the US you and I inhabit WAS Mexico 'till our ancestors (yours more than mine you Catholic fuck) raped/murdered/converted the natives into submission. So I'm pretty much for all out amnesty, for all immigrants.

the reason i got in the ron paul thread in the first place isn't because i hate ron paul's politics, at least not all of them. i just get tired of you, or loki, or whoever saying shit as though it were true. i'm the type of person that hears something on tv, or said by a person, and i have to go look into it myself.

what amazes me about you in particular is that you willingly discount scientists, engineers, and firefighters in favor of 9/11 no-names who run a website. you discount something like factcheck.org for something that ron paul says (well, theoretically, if we're talking about this silly little SUPERHIGHWAY crock of shit); ron paul has an agenda (votes), while factcheck.org has no reason to distort the issue. unless...only you know the truth! no first world nation is on a gold standard...but you know it works!

Without wasting a moment of my time to do the research, I support nocal's desire to call people out who state opinion as fact, which is a turn we all do, but for some to a lesser degree. Without getting into a right/center/left argument, I will credit the right with perfecting this tactic into an art form in the past ten or so years. Clear indicators: 'Well regardless, the fact of the matter is..... or repeatedly stating opinion as fact, until your brain either shuts down/ignores or embraces. We in the US, on the most part, have always been and continue to be a nation of people that are too fucking lazy/scared/incapable/ignorant to lead a life of examination. Not to say that all those who possess an opinion counter to mine have reached that point by mindless adoption, but on the whole, I know very few that really process info to reach their conclusions. Most of the time, they glom onto an opinion that has been processed into fact. Fuck, I did it with the Iraq war, and on that count I failed.
