Okay, not to jump on the defensive, but people haven't noticed something. I read this article and the responses to it on another forum - they're basically the same.
Who can tell me if this is net profit, gross profit, operating profit, or economic profit? Four very different things. The article simply doesn't say, it implies the figure is the net profit, if it isn't then what is this figure and what is the difference? Where do their investments go and how many people do they employee? It's not cheap to survey for oil fields, drill test wells, conduct operations if a hit move on if not. Wash, rinse, repeat.
