'Can you count on voting machines?'
Uhhh no....
The voting machine issue is the most retarded misuse of technology I've heard of in quite some time. There's one easy way that hasn't really been implemented at all and it makes everyone happy:
Use touchscreen voting machines to print out voter verifiable paper ballots(no networks, no electronic counting). You then take your printed ballot to the lockbox and blam you're done. You have a big easy touchscreen interface that isn't confusing. No hacking possible, no hanging chads, and it gets counted the old fashioned way.
Why is this simple-fucking concept escaping every Supervisor of Election, legislator and e-voting machine vendor?
