I like these type of baiting questions, they always are asked in the nasal tone implying that the alternative to democracy is communism or despotism.
It's sad that another human is dead I guess, this SHINING EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRACY.
| |
| | | Of the three forms of governance authoritarianism, anarchism and democracy, democracy is the fairest system. The individual has the greatest opportunity to thrive in a society that embraces order and freedom. | | | |

| | | ^Trueness.
Ron Paul = Continues to Rock at age 72. Even if you don't agree with him, he actually says what he believes, which is something NO other candidate does - none.
| |
| | | Well those are the three broadest descriptions of governance.
I guess you are right about democracy in it's purest, academic form. But where does that exist?
Constitutional monarchy, benevolent dictatorship, popular monarchy, technocracy, corporatism and meritocracy all have the potential to be just as fair as the democracy we see practiced in the world today.
It's not that I'm in love and want to marry alternatives to democracy (actually, us canooks exist under a constitutional monarchy that we like to think is democracy), but I think that doob asks an excellent question. It also gives us a chance to talk pure ideas of governance and resist the urge to all suck Ron Paul cock.
| |
| | | Where did all the funny and smart people go? | | | |
| |
| |
| |
| | | A benevolent dictatorship is probably the best bet, but where the hell can we find a benevolent dictator who can be fair to ALL the people All of the time? Anything less than this is not benevolent to everyone, so it fails the crucial test. What are we left with? The semi-functional 'democracy' that we have. | | | |
