Haven't bums been doing this already? It's why you always see newspaper in their shoes during the winter. There's still a lot of bums walking around without toes though.
yeah, the newspaper blanket has been in use for quite a while. when i take frozen deer meat home from my parent's place (2.5 hour drive) and don't have a cooler, i just wrap it in a bunch of newspaper and put it in a plastic bag.
