Keith Olbermann has the right messages but I wish he could deliver them like John Lennon rather than David Foster Wallace: 'To be willing to sort of die in order to move the reader, somehow. Even now I'm scared about how sappy this'll look in print, saying this.'

The subject is particularly worth while, the content is particularly good, however his delivery on this rant was not his best. He stumbled over some wordy phrases in a manner that reminded me he was using a teleprompter and not just raging from within. His best rants sound like he's abandoned the script and decided to shoot from the hip.

His delivery is bullshit. He doesn't connect to anyone on an emotional level beyond 'WTF? I CAN'T BELIEVE BUSH GOT ELECTED AGAIN!'

Although this douche often delivers messages I agree with; he does it poorly and on a level I do not relate to. This 'snobby liberal' character is not a representation of the average thinking man - but rather a yuppy cartoon of us.

I resent that.

He wanes and waxes, I feel. I guess even when his delivery falters, I have an apreciation for the writing-and the Murrow-era stylization he attempts to evoke. The style does seem rather out of touch, at times, and misses its emotional target at times. This was certainly kind of unneededly mastubatory, seriously-'you are screwed, and screwed you are?'-what is he thinking?

Hes not perfect, But at least when the rest of the media was sucking the dick and softly playing with the balls of GWB, He was telling us the truth

I respect Olbermann, like his work and have since he was on Sportscenter. Now that the Dan Patrick show is off the air at ESPN, I miss those two working together; it was a good way to see another side of Keith's views. I agree that he is often overbearing, but at least he's doing and saying something. It seems to be the only show that chronicles the bowl-circling this country is going through. While he and the network are obviously left-leaning, at least they aren't afraid to point out that the Dems are asshats too. When all is said and done his body of work will be important to this country's history. He is what modern-day reporting should be- informative, humorous, intelligent, passionate and catering to our OCD society. Unfortunately he also exhibits the strongest symptom of today's reporters- bias.

Hmm, not really. As far as I can discern his bias is shown particularly in his special comments, which are openly shown as editorial pieces-not reporting. I confess that the vast majority of his stuff that I have seen are his special comments that get put online, but most of them (this one is definitely excluded) walk a careful journalistic line before coming straight to comdemnation. Murrow believed that news was not just a flaccid regurgitation of the facts, but deserved real hardcore analysis and argument at times. But he also made careful to stipulate what was general reporting and what was editorial analysis-something that I think is clear in general for Olbermann and not clear for a network like Fox
