The Sad thing is the Everglades are already fucked beyond redemption. There is so much mercury and other heavy metals from the sugar cane industry runoff that you really can't eat fish or any other game. The Animals at the top of the food chain are suffering and I know at least one old LINKSWARM 'Cracker' that fell victim to Mercury poisoning, lost his mind and died from his steady diet of fish and gator.

The most we can hope for is a better flood control system that might restore some of the water flow from Lake Okeechobee through the everglades and out into the Gulf that will help restore some wildlife down my way and perhaps prevent another flooding like the one in 1928 which killed more that 2500 at a time before anyone really lived in LINKSWARM in great numbers. 1928 Okeechobee Flood

What we can really hope for is more old LINKSWARM 'Crackers' being poisoned to death.

LINKSWARM has become the social septic system for anywhere east of the Mississippi. Its not the 'Crackers' that end up in the 'only in LINKSWARM' news. Its the silt that floats down here from the rest of the country, whatever crawls up from Latin America or drifts in from the Caribbean. Meeting a native cracker over 30 in any city in LINKSWARM is like taking a ride on a unicorn through field of ghost orchids.

I think the problem here is that before this, Bush never actually seemed to care about how much ANYTHING cost. All of a sudden it matters. What happened?
