i've had some charles shaw wines, and thought it was OK, but nothing spectacular.
I've had some simply awsome $10-20 wines tho.
and agreed on the markup of wines at resturants. it's pretty obscene. I've seen $6 bottles sold at $8/glass at resturants before. madness.

Yes, I agree with that but it doesn't make them right either.

I've had more expensive wines that tasted terrible to me regardless of how highly rated they are among so called connoisseurs. I have taste buds as well and I want them to be happy with what I'm drinking. I think there really are people that pretend to like things just because someone told them they should.

There are plenty of people who love bud light but my beer tastes are a bit more adventurous. I prefer Stouts, traditional Pale's and British Ales. I don't consider my preferences in beer to be refined, just more adventurous.

That said, I haven't tried the Two Buck Chuck and for all I know it may taste like shit to me. What I appreciate is this guys stance that wine snobs are no more an authority over what tastes good than we are. Drink what you like and don't overpay for shit you don't like.

That being said, $20 bottle of wines often taste like a wombat's asscrack. Compare Stonehedge Cabernet to Lindeman's.

Lindeman's = $4.99/bottle

Stonehedge = $19.99/bottle

I would just as soon beat off with a cheesegrater than to ever taste Stonehedge again and Lindeman's is pretty damn good.
