He will be in the local hard-labour prison 10 miles or so from where I live. It won't be easy, but will be better than Gitmo. He won't be in solitary and will probably even have a TV etc.
The way our government let yours trample all over his civil rights has him almost considered a martyr by a lot of people here, even those on the right of the political spectrum, and he could easily become a face of the more loony of the left come Federal election time ( September-October this year), even if he is still inside. There is still a lot of anger about the fact that our government sat on its hands instead of making more than a token effort to get him back home earlier, and the general consensus of opinion is that his guilty plea was just a device to get himself the fuck out of Gitmo. Most Aussies tend to think along the lines of 'who can blame him'.
