I rode one of these at an industry con called the KUKA Robocoaster, it had a TON of passive and active force control safety measures.
That is a Fanuc M-900 of the same type we use at my work with zero safety shit installed at all. Funny, sometimes they just decide to go through the wall due to a 'cumulative round-up error'. That's where the robot controller calculates it's position in space and rounds up to the nearest thou (measured at it's base) which in turn translates to an even bigger positional error at the end of arm tooling (lol carseat). I guess what I'm saying is that he runs the risk of having that robot crayola his head across the floor.
