When it was revealed that the Democrats' minimum wage hike the House passed would not apply to the people of American Samoa � a U.S. territory of Pacific islands, where tuna canning is big business, where one of the main two tuna canners is StarKist (which is based, coincidentally, in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's home district in California).

Goddamnit, I just knew the Democrats would start exhibiting deceit and ruin all the years of good work the Republicans spent building up the good name of Congress.

Right on!! And on top of this the Democrats want to cut the subsidies to Oil Companies for domestic exploration. I mean who needs the money more, the working poor, or BIG OIL?

Despite the fact that I have long asserted that there is no particularly significant difference between the statist parties that run this country, and that this article pretty much points that out, with the additional help of jwalker--the real reason for posting this link was the comfortable false teeth.

BTW:

Anyone notice lately with this troop 'surge' going to Iraq, that it wasn't so very long ago that a bunch of Dems were petitioning GWB stop with his 'stay the course' business, and increase troop deployment--to put enough jack-booted feet on the ground to decisively kick ass and be done? I'm not feeling the love from those guys now that GWB is changing the course with this accellerated deployment. The feeling I'm getting is that they consider this extra deployment to be escalation.

Loki, the troop surge is not a surge. We are returning to the same troop levels as we had early on in the war. A real surge would be 100,000 - 200,000 troops. This is just semantics. Of course, I doubt this is how most dems feel about this. I'm sure they would oppose a true surge as much as a fake one.
