I see phil's point. If anyone is deserving of a death penalty, then surely Saddam Hussein is deserving. However, think of the amount of people he has killed. Think of a specific number.

He was convicted of killing 148 people. 148 is one successful serial killer, but that's sort of an anemic number compared to the people we probably should have gone after (bin Laden, Jong Il, Ahmendinejad, whoeverthefuck is in charge of Syria). He's just not a big deal, really.

2) ordering people to be tortured.
