James Brown for all his faults and screwups was at least interested in helping our fellow man. He was no better than the rest of us mind you, save for his talent and his charitable work. i enjoyed his music over the years and he left an impression good or bad on our culture. Which in the end will probly be more than any of us can hope to acheive.

He gets a pass on the stupid things he did in his life, He was an entertainer and loved to party and made stupid mistakes. But overall he left this world changed in a good way.

The man was not a hero or even a role model.
