| | | This guy's schtick, harping conscientiously on the need to be clear-minded, while strenuously pushing his own unself-questioning brand of smokescreen, is creeping toward wotakian proportions in my mind. | | | |

| |
| | | Glenn Beck. I thought he was just stupid when he asked our first Muslim Congressman to 'prove [he's] not a terrorist.' Now I know I was wrong. He's a complete fucking retard. | | | |

| | | Did you know that Bambi is anti-conservative? Bambi's mother is killed by a hunter, clearly exercising his conservative right to bear arms and shoot food to feed his family (which he doesn't have to do -- he could simply live off welfare like all the lazy mud people).
And think of all the Disney movies -- which ones have a two parent household? Clearly part of the liberal (Jew-run) media, undermining families and trying to convert my children into little faggots.
It's propaganda! Just...it's not my flavor of propaganda. If there was a penguin movie about brown penguins who flew into ice towers and then the penguins went into brown penguin country and really kicked some ass, American style, then ok.
|
|
| |
| | | but you still have to admit... the movie did suck. | | | |

| | | i want to teach my kids to think for themselves about the issues, but i can't stand them being exposed to an alternate viewpoint. | | | |

| | | guys: I don't think the argument here is if it's a good movie or not | | | |
|
|
| |
| | | well: 1) Glen Beck is a douchewad
2) Fuck the environment
3) Fuck cutesy-poo animals

| | | After I saw the Phizer commercials using this movie to hawk pharmaceuticals, I vowed that not a fuking dime of my money would be spent on any Happy Feet enterprises. | | | |

| | | Every form of media produced by the corporate outlets is or contains some form of propaganda. Turn off the radio, stop watching TV and free your mind. | | | |

| | | 'Global warming' is just a way to produce MONEY.
Read your history books.
|
|
| |
| | | Please point out specific chapters pertaining to Global Warming=Money. I can't seem to find it anywhere. | | | |
|
|
| |
| | | Global Warming is not a way to produce money you moron. It's a serious problem that WILL affect future generations because of ignorant people like yourself. | | | |
|
|
| |
| | | The issue to me is whether or not you put media messages into context for your children. If you take your children to a movie or watch a television program and come away with a message that you disagree with then you should discuss it with them and explain why you have a differing point of view. | | | |

| | | global warming is happening. i think the debate is on whether we're causing it...
Interesting to think: conservatives have a boogeyman (terrorists, but years ago we had communists) that are not possible to defeat. They use a constant threat to dictate our behavior.
Is global warming the liberal boogeyman, foisted on us by power hungry politicians who would dictate our every behavior?
|
|
| |
| | | wow, these fucks are putting a lot of assumptionwood in their fireplaces. Besides, saying that having concern for the environment is part of the 'leftist agenda'' sure makes these telepublicans look heartless (along with most of the other stuff they say/do). I bet if you investigated enough you'd find some monetary connection between fox and this movie, making this whole heap of crap just some clever (I hate to call it that) advertising. | | | |
|
|
| |
| | | i don't know much about boogeymen. it's an interesting question.
but the earth has heated and cooled since the beginning.
trying to remember: wasn't the first earth day organized to bring attention to the earths cooling and the coming of the next ice age?
|
|
| |
| | | Well it's scientific knowledge that the emission of CO2 (which the USA contributes the most to, by the way) contributes to the greenhouse effect.
Parallel to the dramatic increase in CO2 levels over the past 50 years, the earth has increasingly gotten hotter on average. Yes there are cooler days then normal, but overall the earth IS warming up.
I don't think it should be a question of whether or not mankind is affecting global warming, but more of the question on whether we should take out an insurance policy (I.E. make regulations to regulate CO2 emission) to protect our future generations.
“If the voices of future generations could be heard, they would plead for action on climate change. The unborn children of tomorrow will bear the heavy burden of our indifference.” Unfortunately I totally agree.
|
|
| |
| | | (which the USA contributes the most to, by the way)
Thought it was China, now.
Parallel to the dramatic increase in CO2 levels over the past 50 years, the earth has increasingly gotten hotter on average.
You know by how much? How about median ocean temps? Significantly cooler than predicted.
I don't think it should be a question of whether or not mankind is affecting global warming, but more of the question on whether we should take out an insurance policy (I.E. make regulations to regulate CO2 emission) to protect our future generations.
So you don't think it's a question of whether or not we are causing global warming, but it is actually a question of whether we should dictate the behavior of mankind? Ah.

|
| |
| | | Beck sometimes questions the Bush administration, however
It's sad that bits like this are pointed out as though they distinguish the questioner as 'fair and balanced'. 'He's not entirely a mouthpiece!'
including border security, government spending, some aspects of the Iraq War, and the nomination of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court.
After all, he's willing to question the things deemed politically safe for that faction of the right wing that realizes Bush isn't absolutely necessary to their ideology.
|
|
| |
| | | 'Beck argues there is an under-reporting of scientific findings that do not support the theory of global warming'
I love this shit. It smacks of the 'Silent Majority' theory we used to hear so much about from... neo-cons.
'I happen to know there is tons of research proving that you're wrong, but I can't be bothered to actually produce any at the moment' they say...
Fucktards. | | | |
