| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | You all realize that this isn't going to make anything better, or fix a damn thing, right? | | | |
| | | | | | | Let the show begin
They're liable to make as big of fools of theyselves as the red guys
I love how Dubya admitted to lying to a reporter about Rummy. Wonder how much effect his morning phone call w/ Nancy P had on making the announcement today.Hope they don't waste alot of time trying to impeach him , hang him quick instead.
Bush is seen begging in the streets for some bipartisan support and cooperation. Well Dubby, you get as good as you give.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Dinozoa: I am not.
There isn't any lesser evil. Both parties are just plain fucking evil.
| | | | | | | When will people realize that strong partisan politics creates a stalemate. People need to vote on the issues, not 'Blue' or 'Red'. Look at Obama, one of the most highly praised politicians who takes a firm middle stance. | | | |
| | | | | | | Barak Obama sold out to the Democratic power-machine. He's a tool of the party now. He's smoke and mirrors like any other major-party politician. Don't trust them. EVER. | | | |
| | | | | | | if you really think there is no difference between anyone in politics, check out the corporate donations data. Nearly all of it is public record these days with all the watchdog groups...
shit like this: http://www.politicalaccountability.net/
sites like that make it easier to see who might actually be cool and care and who, as Bill Hicks would say, is sucking Satan's cock.
follow the money. it is the white rabbit.
| | | | | | | Well, at least with the Democrats plan the troops will be home sometime next week.
Wait a second.
Oh yeah, the Democrats don't have any more of an Iraq plan than the Republicans.
Uart is right, they are both evil.
| | | | | | | Seriously though this should comes as no suprise to anyone. On average, there has been a major shift of power every decade since WWII.
Congratulations Democrats, I tip my hat. Now, don't screw it up. First order of business is to bring our troops home, post haste. Pass a bill revoking the war powers, whatever, just get them home before too many more get killed or wounded.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Without a 2/3 majority , regarding any legislation the Dems might try, Bush is gonna rev up his Energizer Bunny veto pen anyway.
There's gonna have to be some serious ass-kissing from the Dems , to GET that 2/3 override, if anything at all is to be accomplished in the last year of this prezyduncy
| | | | | | | ^^^ True, and the Dems are going to have to play ball on some level over the next year and a half - two years in order to not appear to be obstructionists in order to maintain their slim majority. | | | |
| | | | | | | Slim in the Senate, aye, but the change in the House is huge. I expect that the White House has more to worry about on being perceived as obstructionists, if the GOP doesn't want further losses in 08. They've had several years of full control and what to show for it? | | | |
| | | | | | | Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss. | | | |
| | | | | | | Does anyone know where I can get in line for my free cheese? It is good to have the Dems back. | | | |
| | | | | | | A gold nugget from Josh Marshall:
'The Rumsfeld defenestration justly dominated the news cycle yesterday. But beyond the numbers and policy changes a lot of things are going to need to be rethought in Washington now. A lot of people's conceptual meal tickets just expired.'
| | | | | | | No one does a sex scandal with more elan than a Democrat! | | | |
| | | | | | | So who is fucking Pelosi then? | | | |
| | | | | | | pelosi = congresswoman from san francisco, she is a mindless thug | | | |
| | | | | | | ^^^ And she is drivin the bus now. | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | Hope you all are happy. Shit really going to go down hill now. HAHAHAHA
What Will Happen if Democrats Win (This Was Reported Before Elections)Duh!
Everyone is gradually starting to look at what it would mean if Democrats took the house. Or worse, the Senate, too.
One word: gridlock. Massive partisan fighting. All the time. At least with Republicans in control, they could pass things like the border wall when they finally decided to do something. Now, nobody will be able to get anything done.
All of the likely chairman have said they are going to launch investigation after investigation into the Bush administration. I can imagine nothing the terrorists would like more. I can imagine nothing that would tie up government better. The media would love it. If you thought government was slow now, just wait.
Nancy Pelosi will try to pass all sorts of silly legislation. The President will veto it all. Nothing will get done. A significant minority of Democrats will insist that Bush be impeached.
They may try to cut off funding for our troops in Iraq. The blowhards who made such a stink about body armor will be shown for what the are: totally against supporting the troops. At least their will be clarit on that matter.
Don't expect the Democrats to suddenly become moderates. That party is beyond reason; the people that fund that party want confrontation. If you learn anything from reading their blogs, you learn that they are irrational, and want blood. That party is not funded by normal people anymore. It is funded by Hollywood stars and the ultra-rich. They don't really care about the country that much. They don't understand the country that much. People are only people in the abstract to them. As things to manipulate.
Pete Dupont, writing in the Wall Street Journal, leads us through the inevitable results:
1) Higher Taxes, Just Because.
Democrats want higher taxes - not because we need them, but because it is an article of faith. If we have learned anything in the past few years, it is that they have this bizarre insistence on having higher taxes, no matter what. Why? Because they firmly believe in big government. Government should run everything. They should interfere in every relationship. They should take the maximum amount of money from the middle class as they possibly can, so that they can run as many goofy programs as they can, that do nothing.
First, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has promised that election of a Democratic House would insure 'a rollback of the [Bush] tax cuts.' Rep. Charles Rangel of New York, who would be chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, would make sure no tax cut extension bill would ever get to the floor. He voted against the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts and the bill that later extended the tax cuts until 2010 (as did all but seven of the 205 Democratic House members). In September Mr. Rangel said that he 'cannot think of one' Bush tax cut he would agree to renew.
Investors Business Daily recently pointed out that since the Bush tax cuts took effect in 2003, 'the economy has added $1.26 trillion in real output, $14.4 trillion in net wealth and 5.8 million new jobs.' But that progress doesn't seem to matter to the liberals, whose primary goal is to raise income tax rates. 'Taxing the rich' will be the leading economic argument of a 2007 Democratic House, and a rollback tax bill of some kind will reach the floor.
2. The Fiddling Begins: They won't do anything to Save Social Security.
Second, President Bush will not be able to re-energize his effort for individually owned Social Security accounts, for 'preventing the privatization of social security' is in the Democratic National Committee's '6-Point Plan for 2006.' Democrats don't trust people to own or invest their own retirement funds--better to let a wise government do that, for as socialist Noam Chomsky says, 'putting people in charge of their own assets breaks down the solidarity that comes from doing something together.'
Even though that quote comes from an extreme nut, it is an accurate reflection of Democratic belief: government should run everything. No, you can't be trusted. Big Brother will take care of everything. You, dear voter, are a child.
3) Energy Independence: Down the Drain
The most important thing we need to do is to take away the terrorist's ability to wage war. They are funded, in large part, by massive oil money flowing into the Mideast. The quickest way around this is to build nuclear power plants. Democrats will stop all of this, in favor of hippy solutions: You will be asked not to flush your toilet so much, to grow beans in the backyard so you don't have to drive to the store, have a solar monstrosity on your roof, etc.
'Reducing dependence on foreign oil' is a good Democratic goal, and there are a number of ways to accomplish it. Building more nuclear power plants is one. Offshore drilling for oil and natural gas is another. Oil reserves in the Outer Continental Shelf and Alaska could replace foreign oil imports for 25 years, and there is a known 19-year OCS supply of natural gas.
But liberal Democrats are opposed to all of these solutions. Hillary Clinton is opposed to the construction of nuclear plants and offshore drilling. Every Democratic senator on the Environment and Public Works Committee voted against allowing the building of new oil refineries on closed military bases. When the House voted 232-187 in June to allow and encourage OCS oil and natural-gas drilling, 155 of 195 Democrats voted to block it. The Democratic alternative is to eliminate the $18 billion the oil companies now get in various business tax deductions and thereby impose a higher income tax on them.
Get ready to turn the thermostat down to 67 degrees. Get out that sweater.
4) Bye, Bye War on Terror. Hello, Muslim Brothers.
We will be told it is all our fault for being unkind to Muslims. Negotiate! They will say. No one seems to have noticed that Europe has been negotiating for years with Iran, and Iran just laughs at them. No one notices that we have been negotiating with North Korea for years, and they just laugh at us.
No, for them 'Negotiate' is a synonym for run away. Refuse to fight, ever, even if it will keep a large war from happening.
When the nukes start going off in our cities in a few years, it will be a great 'tragedy'. They will immediately plan for a memorial for the victims.
Meanwhile, Charlie Rangel suggests we just starve the troops of money until Bush is forced to bring them home:
As for the war in Iraq, Mr. Rangel observed that 'You've got to be able to pay for the war, don't you?' In other words, end it by simply defunding it. Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania calls for 'immediate redeployment of U.S. troops' and intends to run for majority leader if the Democrats take control of the House. Ninety percent of House Democrats opposed the terrorist surveillance program, and 80% voted against the recent terrorist interrogation legislation.

| | | | | | | | | | | | Shit really going to go down hill now. HAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHA, from where?
i too am sad that republicans can't just pass any asinine bill they come up with and have the president sign it. now that they will be scrutinized for merit, whatever will we do?
I can imagine nothing that would tie up government better.
how about whitewater/blowjob hijinks?
The President will veto it all.
are you sure? he's kinda out of practice.
checks-and-balances OH NOES!
| | | | | | | well see. ill be here when your dems fuck up. | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | Wow. Good call on pasting that entire shit. There's a serious shortage of partisan anti-liberal tracts on the Internet.
Particularly amusing WTF bits...
They should interfere in every relationship.
See voter statistics on the 'lets rewrite the Wisconson state constitution so that those evil gays can't get married' referendum. Yes, it's a drop in the bucket, but fresh in my memory, having happened two days ago.
investigation after investigation into the Bush administration. I can imagine nothing the terrorists would like more. I can imagine nothing that would tie up government better.
See the last president, who somehow inflamed Republican desire for truth and clarity in leadership for years of intense investigations which produced little -- least of all a permanent Republican desire for truth and clarity in leadership.
That party is not funded by normal people anymore. It is funded by Hollywood stars and the ultra-rich.
See Ted Haggard for just the latest example.
No, you can't be trusted. Big Brother will take care of everything.
See... what, the entire Bush presidency?
This guy has nothing but the usual blindered hot air. It's literally a waste of time to read it.
What will the Democrats do? Probably fuck everything up. The Republicans will then find a way to make that fuckup appear more important than any fuckups they performed themselves in the preceeding years -- which are, objectively speaking, I think, are a lot worse than any administration I can think of, at least in non-third-world countries.
I think the two-party system exists so that once one side starts fucking things up too much, we let the other party come in and fuck some stuff up for a while.
It'll be nice to have a change of pace.
| | | | | | | yeah, what we got now is assholes. but at least they aren't those assholes.
what kills me is that people go on these long-winded rants about the evil liberals, like the republican party is actually fucking conservative. i'd actually have a little more respect for repubs if they took out the trash (neocon assholes).
i'm just curious how all the 'fiscal conservatives' can justify a tax cut (and be outraged at rolling one back) while spending > $6.8 billion/month in iraq. i guess government handouts are only bad as long as you aren't getting some.
| | | | | | | HAHAHA All I have been hearing for 6 years is long-winded rants, you guys know nothing else but to rant. Did you hear ANY Republican talking about pregnant chads or fake votes or uh stealing votes, uhm noooooo. Every where I went rant rant rant. Im the only one on here with atleast some balls to come on here and say something. You Dems think your guys are gonna come in riding white horses and stop the war and live happy lives. EEEEH not gonna happen.
| | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | When did Wolfer become a wierd talking-point spazzbot?
Congratulations on being the only one on the Internet with the balls to call liberals 'whiney'.
'Us' 'Dems ought to know better, right?
| | | | | | | Did you hear ANY Republican talking about pregnant chads or fake votes or uh stealing votes, uhm noooooo
Kinda like in sports when a ref blows a call that clearly benefits one team, do you ever see THAT team complaining? I'm the last person to talk politics because it's all the same to me. The two party system is a complete and utter farce of 'democracy', but it wasn't always that way.
At the core of all these failings in our government lies the aggressive nature of the GOP. It exists in all forms of their politics, foreign policies, domestic policies. I firmly believe that they're why the world hates us.
The war in Iraq, while justified (to me), is a complete failure in military execution and administrative oversight. Do I think the Dems are going to do a better job? No. However, I'm willing to give them a chance. It honestly can not get any worse, and if you disagree, look at how the majority of Americans voted. The people are unhappy. If you believe in democracy, then you should kneel to your fellow man's general consensus.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Haha.
Seriously though, no male blowjob for me, thanks.
[SNARKY_COMMENT_REGARDING_SAVING_IT_FOR_GOP_SPIRITUAL_AND_POLITICAL_LEADERS]
| | | | | | | No! Serious! These freedom-hating republican fags should be rounded up and put in camps until we, the super-heroic majority with god on our side, win the war on terror. They don't deserve the protections afforded by the Constitution that they've spent the last 6 years raping. Waaaaah wah, whiny ass titty baby republicans, eat a big bag of Jesus! Why do you hate America? You make me sick. You're worse than the Mexicans. It's OK, don't worry, the grownups are in charge now and you can just kick back and suck on a spotted owl while the Holy Pelosi fixes everything. LET THE EEEEEEEEEEEEAGLE SOAR!
Not really though. | | | |
| | | | | | | Oh yeah, also? Get over it. | | | |
| | | | | | | Oh yeah. We can use that one now, can't we?
STOP YOUR WHINING, LOL.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Wow, I was wondering when the typical name calling Demacrap was going to happen.
Vlad, why dont you blow the sand out of your little pussy flap there and get your shit straight.
I have never met a republican that wasnt for freedom. What are you talking about 'hate America' are you a fucking retard? If you think the Mexicans are bad well your buddies are going to make sure they all get Amnesty so they can live here legally and get higher minimum wage. Say hello to Jose for me.
Your just a typical Dem. I bet you wear glasses and you have curly dark hair and your skinny. Am I right?
Well lady's I would like to sit here and play grab ass with you but im on about 3 hours sleep. So im gonna hit the sack, wake up, come back and read the typical BS on this thread that the real whinny bastards have to say.
| | | | | | | If you think the Mexicans are bad well
typical name calling Demacrap
Your just a typical Dem. I bet you wear glasses and you have curly dark hair and your skinny. Am I right?
So not only Mexicans, but Jews and irony are on your watch list.
And beyond that, you're the only one whining in this thread. I don't say that because you have an opposing viewpoint; I don't consider Uart to be whining.
| | | | | | | Haha wow, after all the shit I put in my post I thought the very last thing I was guilty of was being insufficiently facetious. RONG! I guess I should lower my expectations.
| | | |
| | | | | | | That's right Vlad, Save The Terry ! | | | |
| | | | | | | Wolfer: Now with 16% more bite™ | | | |
| | | | | | | Not sure what the problem is about immigration, we stole this land fair and square!
And we hoodwinked a good portion of it too from Mexico/New Spain--ever notice from California to LINKSWARM [south coast to south coast] there seem to be a lot of 'mesican' names? Damn immigrants come stole our tomato picking, cotton picking, meanial janitoiral and other labor itensive/low-wage jobs!!
Wolfie: The republican party stands for power through superior agression and capitalist dick-waving dominance. They increase Military spending which means more wars and more government. They decrease RIGHTS of the individual through 'wars on [Insert moral cause here]' in order to curry favor with some religious nuts.
The democraps just want to give everyone a hand out and are pseudo socialist, but when their backs go against the wall, we realize they are just republicans without hormonal imbalances and lack that special character we call naked arrogance, they at least wear pasties and g-strings.
Also, if you are partisan [red/blue, left/right, rep/dem] you are part of the problem--the power elite [RICH FUCKS] use the social stratification and other moral arguments to divide and conquer the uneducated masses. Don't be a tool of any party. Be yourself, think for yourself and realize that you have been fed and are regurgitating party-line propaganda bullshit.
| | | | | | | Can you show us how to fix lawnmowers next, Phil ? | | | |
| | | | | | | get an electric one. No need for conditioning it, it won't run outta gas/oil/filters/sparkplugs. Also you can teach the weeman folks to run it because it's just like a vaccum cleaner. | | | |
| | | | | | | Is it wrong that I voted for everyone I thought would ruin Bush's little power party? | | | |
| | | | | | | Well I was just sharing something I have read on here, which I feel that alot of people were misled into voting without know exactly what they were getting. I didnt want it to turn into a fucking my sandbox name calling bullshit that it did. Im not a very political person but have been trying to get more into it. I have always been a Republican. Not all things i agree with. Lets just say I know a girl that been to the abortion clinic. I was fueled up on whiskey and no sleep and let myself get whilled up. So thats it, Im to fucken tired and hung over, to give a fuck right now, and I have to do my lawn this weekend ...So im gonna go buy me an electric mower.
Oh and No I have NO watch list but if I did Im sure there would be a few Mexicans on there. No Jews but possibly some Polacks and a couple of Kurds.
| | | | | | | A message was sent by the american voting populace that the current 'stay the course ' mentality is not an acceptable aproach to the foreign policy debacle which was developed and has been fully implemented by the current administration and rubberstamped by the republican majority in both house and senate.
In my opinon this past midterm election was all about foreign policy and nothing else.
| | | | | | | | | | | | I have always been a Republican.
Sorry your fucking sports team didn't win this time. It must hurt your soul to see the opposing team reign victorious. I know you've invested huge amounts of cash in car stickers and t-shirts proclaiming your inherent 'choice' to be part of the Republican Team..er..Party.
Don't get me wrong, I admire your diehard attachment and blind faith. After all, what kind of man would you be if you stopped to question what you know. God forbid, admit that you were wrong to continue to support evil retards--even when it was clear that they were evil retards.
So fuck yeah, hang in there. There will always be folks out there to reinforce your stupidity. Maybe you can all organize a tailgate party outside Rumsfeld's house. Do they make Republican jerseys? If not, get on that. And hurry, I hear Borat II is in the works and you fuckers would be perfect to make fun of.
| | | | | | | fuck political parties. It should be about the people, not the money, not the sponsors, not religion. Wolfer, get your republican head out of her ass and your mouth of the president's weenie. Your party is a sham. same with the dems. Like gothmog, I voted for whoever I figured would disrupt the current standings. Not because I'm anti republican, but because I'm anti-how-things-are. It's about time people started caring about issues instead of rooting for the hometeam. you eats poopies. | | | |
| | | | | | | BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.......
Dear Rusty,
I know you probably get a lot of messages asking you to read stuff on your show, but I BEG you to read this...... I would like you to tell America exactly what they did to their soldiers on Tuesday, and what WE think about our countrymen right now.
'I hope you are satisfied with what you have done...
Today in the mess hall, where there is usually jovial conversation, there was silence, long faces, and broken spirits... Everyone, to include all American soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, Iraqi Nationals, Bulgarian Soldiers, etc, etc... was speechless, tired, demoralized and stunned.... all ate in erie silence.....
Last night, while we watched the press conference with the President, there was utter discust, and the common feeling amongst us all that we soldiers are now the loneliest people on Earth.... we fight an enemy over here, and we have a country full of enemies to go home to that are our countrymen. We watched President Bush say his own political funeral, our commander and chief.. as well as ours..... He tried so hard to spin it, but... well.. there is no way to soften such a morale blow.
While you sit and Monday morning quarterback what we work so hard to do for you out here, just know that the spirit of your team is wounded..... YOU liberals, you America have done a great job of demoralizing us... Thank you.
Do us a favor though, when we do come home, spare us the ceremony....... We all now know that it is a bunch of crap, and what you think of us.......
I have to say that right now, I would rather be a pussy ass Frenchman, even though they have no will to fight, at least they have the balls to make a decision and stick with it...... They stuck to thier guns about staying out of this war, even if it was the wrong decision......America on the other hand, goes off half cocked, and when the decision appears to be a hard one, or something that might cost a little bit, they turn tail and run.....
WHAT A NATION OF PUSSIES!!!!
This week I am NOT proud to say that I am an American..........I think it is obvious why... See, we just have told the world that we are not a nation of people who are tough, and will fight for what we believe in... We have told the world that we are a giant coward that will shy away from any difficult challenge...
So, while you eat your cheetos, and sit there and watch your lazy ass get fatter, dumber and happier Joe Citizen.. Just remember this, I, and all my commrades payed a dear price to come this far and have you decide that we should fail...
Realize this, because of your action this week America.... do not expect so many men to be so willing to stand up for your next little whim just to be cut down in the middle of it all............
Realize this also.. you have just put a heavy price on the heads of us all...... Now that we are branded as cowards, we are an easy target, oh so inviting for the taking....... I swore to protect your children in your beds.... yet you fling the door wide open inspite of me to invite the scourge.... Well.... have it your way then.
Because of this, September 11th will soon be overshadowed by these same enemies.. my advice to you is get your lazy, self centered ass up and make peace with your God, and your family.. cause, time will come when they may not be there for you................Because you kicked me in the teeth, and so many others, I know I won't any more.. '
Aaron.
As heard on the Rusty Humphries Show COLLAPSE
| | | | | | | That is the saddest thing I've ever read because it is also the stupidest thing I've ever read. | | | |
| | | | | | | Alright well you guys have said what you had to say and I have said more then I really wanted to. This shit isnt going to go nowhere. So im gonna move on to bigger and better things. Like smoking a bowl and having a beer and maybe later on Im gonna go and play with my girls tits.
Moving Along. | | | |
| | | | | | | There is no war on terror.
Bush is evil.
Democrats(craps) are evil.
Republicans(nazis) are evil.
There is no difference between the above mentioned parties.
There is no way of keeping our constitution. It will continue to be shredded and picked away piece by piece and you will allow and agree with this happening, after all it's for your saftey and freedom.
Next up: United World of America. Brought to you by a catastrophic world crisis or an illusion thereof(probably global warming).
| | | |
| | | | | | | it's going nowhere because you have puddingfarts for a brain. | | | |
| | | | | | | guitarjohn, you dont even know me son. Dont sit here behind your box and fuckin degrade me when you have no idea who the fuck your talkin to. Cause I goddamn gaurantee you, that you wouldnt say a fuckin word to me if you were in front of me, so back off, chowderhead. | | | |
| | | | | | | Look at history and you realize the same cunt-farts that ran vietnam are running this show--the same abortions are splurting back up the chute--! They are the enemy and if the 'veterans to be' don't realize that the current administration could give a rats ass about 'terrorism' or any other excuse to line their pockets. The democraps are more discreet about their corruption, the repubs get into wars to help out their gun-club friends.
p.s. that note was written by a brainwashed idiot. He might as well be on the 'holy war' side--because they are saying the same thing. The best resolution to a fight is never to fight at all.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Can we not be internet tough guys? I thought that shit didn't happen here. And for the record, I would say anything to any of your faces that I would say online.
Also: I do not support the troops and I am tired of people going to great lengths to suck their cocks. Especially now that they have lowered every physical standard as well as every academic standard to join up. Boy I sure support a barely literate fat ass fuck stick fighting a war I never wanted in a place I don't care about!
| | | | | | | I AM SO TUFF I CAN BEECHYOO UP TO DA MEWN!!!!!!11 | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | for mundhra (and your fun):

The law of diminishing returns, dawg.
| | | | | | | Hahaha, Thats funny, how'd you get that pic? You know I really think its sad that I voice my opinion and get shit on by the same people that I have talked with for several years. Because I have a differant opinion, I am now a puddingfart brain. I may have come off a little to harsh with my previous post but like I said I was up all night and drunk on whiskey.
Thanks for the pic, I saved it.
| | | | | | | America on the other hand, goes off half cocked
ya think?
to all the soldiers in iraq: i never supported this shit from the start, so solly challie.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Hey guys: why does it seem kind of popular to say the democrats and republicans are the same, or equally evil, or etc etc?
There are similarities between the democrats and the republicans, yes, nobody denies our electoral system has a habit of crunching out the same ol' same ol'.
And yes, the republicans have their share of bad policies and the democrats have their share too.
But they aren't the same. The pass different bills, enact different policies. One common argument I see is the democrats don't have any plan to get out of Iraq, so in that sense they are the same as Republicans. This is a wrong statement, so perhaps we shouldn't consider it, but importantly it ignores broader issues, such as the democrats not having any plans to go to war in Iran (unlike republicans), and the possibility of another terror incident arising where our govt's response is not to declare war on an (relatively) innocent third party nation.
And the democrats are not evil. They aren't. They may be bad people, but they don't see invading and killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to ensure oil supplies from Saudi Arabia and Iran as an acceptable method of benefitting the US eeconomy. The harm that could possibly come from taxing rich people more than they deserve is insignificant to the harm the Republicans caused Iraq.
It is basically a useless statement to declare Republicans and Democrats as equal, or equal in evilness. And it seems petty and sour grapesish to start making these statements after a democrat victory. The electoral victory of 2006 does not have to be heralded by the acknowledgement of wrecker, et al.
The idea nothing is going to change does have some merit, as we can reasonably expect the next two years to be a useless bickering between a lame-duck president and an opposition congress, but the next two years are not the only two years left to this political system (unless a miracle happens.) Without Bush to campaign for the Republicans in 2008, there will most likely be even more losses in the House and Senate. The defeat of George Allen , Santorum, et al, leaves the Republicans without a clear 2008 candidate from Washington, Jeb Bush is tainted, and there is no possibility of an ammendment allowing Schwarzenegger to run, so there is a serious vacuum for the GOP here. The Dems, on the other hand, have Hilary, Biden, Obama, and probably a few others in Washington, as well as some we've seen before who are going to look real good right now because they ran against Bush, lost, and can say they wouldn't have done the same things, ie Kerry, Dean, and especially Gore.
Gore is practically untouchable right now, if he wants to run. I feel good about him.
| | | | | | | This thread is wheel-spinningly epic. | | | |
| | | | | | | ^ and proportionally dense in its epicity.
Wolfer - you think that if someone doesn't agree with Bush policy over the past six years, that automatically makes them a Democrat. Don't kid yourself; we're all on our own. Do you make any distinction between 'freedom' as a talking point, and as a principle of equality?

| | | | | | | Quoth weird mole-person Henry Waxman:
' The Democratic congressman who will investigate the Bush administration's running of the government says there are so many areas of possible wrongdoing, his biggest problem will be deciding which ones to pursue.
There's the response to Hurricane Katrina, government contracting in Iraq and on homeland security, decision-making at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration, and allegations of corporate profiteering, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., told the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
'I'm going to have an interesting time because the Government Reform Committee has jurisdiction over everything,' Waxman said Friday, three days after his party's capture of Congress put him in line to chair the panel. 'The most difficult thing will be to pick and choose.'
