Only Chinamen can make these spiral bulbs?

To make each spiral, a Chinese worker wearing gloves takes a tube of glass, holds it over an open flame, then wraps the heat-softened tube around a metal form.

wait, what about LED lightbulbs? aren't they supposed to be more efficient, have a more natural looking light, and be longer lasting?
I say we skip the flickery green CFL's and move to LEDs.

When I had my house built, I had the builder put these bulbs in anywhere he could fit them. They now also make them with the traditional lightbulb or flood light outer housing. The extra money spent then has more than been recouped through my power bill.

Bizarrely interesting. I had no idea these things were that cool. My landlord, a throwback to the early 1900s, has them everywhere, and they're brighter than shit. They're cool to the touch, too, unlike most other lights, which fact kept me from unscrewing one at a diner two weeks ago until the waitress came over and nonchalantly stuck her fingers right on it. I was like 'woah bitch you gon get burnt up' and she was like 'nah' and then I was like 'snap that's some technology for you'.

Yeah, saving money is cool.

I made my bedside lamp using one with an upside down mexican art glass vase from Marshalls

Doesn't even get warm, a regular bulb would crack the vase from heat.
