I don't see how it's overtly racist. At best, it's racism is a mild 1980s, 'we're trying too hard not to be racially conscious' racism, which is more a sign of immaturity than prejudice.

With both the picture and the wording, I don't see how whoever designed it could have not been trying to strike a chord. But then, maybe it's only intended to be racy, and not racist?

Why the fuck is this their ad campaign though? They are pitting their own product line against itself??? That makes no sense. The entire marketing is just outright wrong, and the fact that someone missed the fact that someone might just look up at this ad and go 'That's racist and I'm offended' just proves that something is terribly wrong with Sony's marketing department.

Calling 'not racist' is the new calling 'racist' online. For whatever reason, the buzz on the internet about this, along with all other questionable items of possible racist content, seems to be overwhelmingly in the 'not racist' camp. Get on the bandwagon!

Sure it's fucked up but we are all discussing it and it is the first time I have remembered an advertisement for an extended length of time in years.. (meaning: from the first time this surfaced weeks ago)

Seems they achieved exactly what they desired to me. It might in fact be BRILLIANT..

jreedy: you're missing the point of the advertising. the black and white are dancing, not fighting; the lighting on the white marks it as more exciting than the black. That's all there is to it. And if it's not racist, what's your objection?
