| | | | | | | | | | | | I HATE IT.
Just wotakking. | | | |
| | | | | | | Day Of Defeat is my FPS of choice. | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | I hart BF2 and would not cheet. | | | |
| | | | | | | I've heard Red Orchestra is so realistic (no recticles, 30+ weapons meticulously programmed to operate just as in reality, 100% accurate physics) it should be labeled a 'simulator'. I'll probably check it out soon. | | | |
| | | | | | | Also heard good things about RO. Never played it.
Also hart BF2. Am willing to cheat, especially if Steam's 'follow friend' feature now works and saves us having to type IPs to each other in IRC.
| | | | | | | No shit, that game was platanos. | | | |
| | | | | | | DOD: S is really good.
Capsule Review:
It's simliar to BF2. It's a WWII, team-based FPS. Germans vs. Americans, five classes each. Maps are either a series of flags of which all must be captured to win or a series of targets that must be defended/destroyed.
It has a steep learning curve for each weapon (lots of recoil, very inaccurate at a distance unless designed otherwise), but once you get the hang of it noobs have zero chance against you.
It isn't ultra-realistic, but it certainly leans farther into that direction than most shooters. There are no vehicles. Basically, it emphasizes team play to the point you almost have to have someone directing your squad or you just won't make it. Also, it costs $20, and can be downloaded.
I play under the handle 'Lownotes'.
That is all. | | | |
| | | | | | | Red Orchestra is indeed a sweet addition to the Steam lineup. I bought it a few months ago, and am continually astounded by the realism they attempted to bring the FPS genre.
If you get shot in your trigger hand, you can't shoot with that hand. If you get shot in the leg, you limp and are slow. The carbine's, when aimed properly, are a one-shot kill.
That said, I generally find the pace of the game a bit slow, and usually fire up DOD:S :)
When you think DOD:S, think CS:S; but with better hit-detection/hitboxes, and WAAAAAY fewer fagits. If there is an ounce of geek in you, you'll weep at the detail and textures of the maps, particularly the building interiors. Lownotes is right about the learning curve; the SMG and Rocket classes, most notably, are tough to master. Once you've got them down though, the game is a blast.
Check it. | | | |
| | | | | | | For the record: I am, in fact, checking it right now. Downloading: 52%.
I love BF2 but you just can't beat the Follow Friends feature... assuming it motherfucking works this time around.
| | | | | | | Lemme know your screen name. | | | |
| | | | | | | 'vasudeva', duh.
I'm playing DOD:S now. Kinda wierd. Much like CS:S.

| Sexual Asspussy | This is awesome.
This is the first pornsite I've found in years that I'd actually advertise to swarmers. When you first load it up, it looks just like every crappy scam site out there, except that it's real. It's huge, it's updated constantly, there's no spam, no popups, and no bullshit -- and it's completely free. When you sign up through that link above and respond to the confirmation email, I make a bit of loose change.
See what other swarmers have to say about it. People love this place, so I feel fine about sending you there and am confident you will enjoy boners.
