Vasudeva: it's a bad analogy because it plays right into the pro-neutrality arguments. Think about it, if the internet were a series of tubes (carrying water), we'd need different tubes for uploading and downloading, different tubes for high speed and low speed connection, and depending on how far you take the analogy, different tubes for different files you send, so you don't mix the files up.
On the other hand, pretty much everybody, at this point, understands what telephone lines are. There is no need to dumb things down too much.
Anyway, I have a big deal about how you can frame an issue to make your side appear more or less compelling just based on the vocabulary you use, not the merit of your arguments. An example is, it was definitely the republicans idea to have things be pro-life vs pro-choice.
