wonder time:-
what would happen if more than one person clapped their hands..?
what if the local quetzals, which would have inhabited the surrounding jungle, heard the immitated sounds produced from the reverberated echoes.. would they have responded in call from their perched positions?
would they have visited the temples to investigate the mimicked sounds when ceremonies where being undertaken?
as a revered bird for the mayans they may have been viewed as returning spirits of dead/sacrificed ancestors/a blessing which could be summoned by those in power upon demand.. sealing any pacts.. ordaining any ceremonial acts.. blessing any new commands/wishes with their presence alone?
wonder ends, as it's more than likely that the mayans split them in two for use as pre-coated-blood-soaked-flying-paintbrushes during another of their funday sports events. GO MAYANS!
