The military doesn't want a draft. They want people who want to be there, not a bunch of malcontent conscripts who will be more trouble than they're worth. A draft doesn't do anyone any good.

This is not to say that politicians won't push for a draft.

Aw, like raising the age is going net any fresh meat. They need to face facts that as long as getting blown up, shot at, shot down, defending some sandy buttcrack of a country and being the target of general hatred and abuse is a big part of the job description, most folks are going to take a pass. At least at they wage they're offering.
