Title editing because someone looking for info about Uranus isn't going to have an eye out for 'your anus.' Conversely, anyone looking for info about 'your anus' will be searching doodie.com instead.

I really don't care, especially as it seems you were right, but as I am surpsied that editing of titles are possible, I am curious:

can it be done by a regular voter or must such censorship be conducted by admin only?

Only admins can edit titles, and it happens all the time. Someone submits a good link but the title is 'OH BOY!' or they put the description in the title field and the title in the description field. Or they don't manage to spell 'supermarket' correctly. Or they refer to the linked material in some sly, vague way that guarantees no one will be interested enough to click it, like titling a link to a bunch of worthwhile porn 'Page 3 FTW'.

In 30,000 links processed I've had one person take issue with title editing. You are number two.

Me. I finally PMed myself and asked me to cut it out, at which point I delivered a very convincing rationale for the moderated publication of user-submitted content which finally swayed me. I've been a happier, more productive submitter ever since.
