Chavez has not invaded any foreign countries. He does not have secret prisons at home or abroad. Chavez has repeatedly won democratic elections and the opposition operates freely although some members have been charged with accepting illegal foreign donations. Nonetheless George Bush's administration repeatedly targets Chavez on human rights and finances his opponents.

When will it be enough for the United States? First it's 'They need democracy!' Then it's 'The guy they elected democratically...he's not so great! Fuck that guy!'

It's the Castro connection that the US government doesn't like. The Powers That Be in the States probably think he is a Commie, and we all know what that means to the average American. That and the fact that the GOP cannot stand the idea of the Welfare State in any form.

Funny. Chavez was arrest for leading a coup, had several large banks illegally funnel money towards his campaigns, has had only one Carter Center-endorsed election, managed to barely defeat a recall attempt, in which voter fraud has been alleged, and sacked and replaced workers with pro-Chavez workers.
