Those bottom pics look like blood cells. Maybe its just raining blood, which is normal.

The cells don't look like bacteria, which makes me strongly question the journalists and scientists involved.

I thought there might be something up with this. That 'I think this is under-reported' was kind of a question-mark, especially because it is under-reported. I thought bacteria came in all different shapes and shit though?

Almost sure it's an elaborate hoax - those SEMs (bottom pics) look identical to red blood cells (google image: rbc sem) which the research paper doesn't even mention - that alone arouses suspicion. There's no functional reason for a bacterium to be that shape - they usually suffer more from a high surface area in the first place, which is what that shape creates.

Hoax papers get accepted by minor scientific journals surprisingly frequently (I remember one with 'dinosaurs' in the title!) as they don't have the money/inclination to peer review all the papers. Also, the focus that the 'particles' don't contain DNA is almost comic as 1. alien life forms certainly wouldn't have DNA like us and 2. RBCs don't have DNA... too good to be true!

I read the paper and LOL about the red blood cells with THICK CELL WALLS (like plants) and these 'blood cells' did not explode after having been exposed to RAIN WATER loaded with all of the chemicals and pollutants in the air? It looks like it could very well be Chlamydomonas nivalis (red snow algae) from the Western Ghats, the mountain range that runs along the western coast of India.

Dumbskull not done with menopause yet? That could explain it.
