hmmm...That card i mentioned above is primarily my wife's and I am listed as a secondary user. I tried to get my wife's credit report today from that link posted in the credit card noob thread of the forums, 2 out of 3 (equifax and transunion) say I have to call or write in, they can't give it to me online because of 'security reasons'. I called and it's supposed to take 15 days to process and mail. I'm not to sure what to think but I bought a roll of double thick BBQ aluminum foil today just to be safe.

We paid cash for our house. We have no credit cards at all; haven't since the early 80's when Reagan took office. No Mortgage, no MasterCard, no Student Loans, no Car Loans. The result?

In spite of making well under 20k a year between us, we still have to pay additional taxes in April (just on income, property taxes are in October) of a thousand plus every year, even with the withholding at the highest rate (single, no dependants) while we're married.

The reason?

My wife & I owe no debts. Granted, we live hand to mouth, but we owe no money. The government doesn't like that. A good deal of the economic 'growth & recovery' they cite is in the form of credit debt, and therefore an artificial wealth projected on the potential earnings of labor and interest from the loans. They get revenue from debt. Cash citizens are the enemy.

Is it surprising they are persecuting those who refuse to fall into the credit / debt trap? Not to me. Not at all.

(20k TakeHome, not Gross per year...I still pay a mess for insurance that eats about a fifth of my check.)
