Let's face it: Such writing is pure porn for global warming deniers

ROFL. I mean, I recognized long ago that he's not a very good writer, but I never stopped to think he was such a fucking shill. All his novels are anti-science in really bizzare ways.

I like his books. The are entertaining and fun. State of Fear is realevant, appropriate, and I feel fairly accurate in its depiction of greenpeace extremists. I think he tries to make statements on a personal level, as ALL writers do, through his characters. The hard cover is sitting on my shelf just to the right of me. The footnotes are great, providing a 'real' element to the arguments the characters are conveying. Its just fucking fiction. Who cares if he's trying to make a statement?

Heres my opinion.
Global warming is ONLY a ploy by the illuminati to give us a WORLD CRISIS in which to excuse the placement of a world government, effectivley the New World Order. It does not exist. The world has been warming(much warmer than it is now) and cooling for MILLIONS of years. WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU(we) to think because weve monitored weather/sea temps for 100 years, that we have some sort of knowledge about our planets warming and cooling trends!?

So, this clandestine 'illuminatti', these purveyors of the 'New World Order' are most definitely real, but facts gained from empirical evidence are not? The polar caps are melting at accelerated rates. Glaciers are melting faster and faster. That we know.

Now, to place terminology like 'Global Warming' with it's arguable connotations of total human fault in the warming trend of the planet is (in my mind) dubious. However, to say that the earth is not getting warmer and that some secret, shadow government only uses the idea to strike fear into the hearts of liberals and environmentalists in hopes of centralizing global power is much easier to debase.

If it's just fucking fiction, why does he need pages of footnotes? Footnotes, I might add, that are deliberately misleading in such a way that he manipulates data to support his skewed agenda. He does this because it's a thinly veiled attempt at propaganda, which appears to succeed on some level.

Look at his other novels: Jurassic Park is a warning about cloning. The Andromeda Strain is about manipulating diseases and cures. Frankly, my knowledge of his work doesn't go a whole lot further than that, but I would guess the same shit is going on in most of his books.

'Eaters of the Dead' was his best book by far.

Eaters of the dead was great....the great train robbery is fun too. He directed that movie(G T R) and it starred Sean Connery....so he must be right.
