Is google being bad for not being banned? no.

Is google being bad for caving into chinese government pressure? yes. and so are about ONE BILLION mother-fuckers, so they are acting according to the majority rule, ergo, democratically.

The longer that China's middle- class population expands the more likely that it is that the walls will come down. Surely technology and ingenuity will solve the problem of how to stay anonymously informed whilst living in China. Is it really possible to control information based on geographical location?

So...any really good alternatives?

Not really. This is largely a non-event for me.
