'Intelligent design' is 'a religious alternative masquerading as a scientific theory' and cannot be mentioned in biology classes in a Pennsylvania public school district, a federal judge said Tuesday
I consider this bad, or at least not-exciting news, for these two reasons:
1) We already knew Pennsylvanians had some sense when they voted out the school board officials who wanted ID. I want to see this happening in the flatlands, where they need it.
2) Now ID is being banned -- which will only give this bullshit religious-persecution angle of the Christians actual substance for the first time ever. Don't ban it. Just don't allow anyone to make it mandatory. Then let teachers and students and parents -- the actual relevant parties -- fight it out like normal.
