There are, however, many flaws in his system. Chief and principle is the valuation of the music. Of the 400 or so hours of digital music that i own, I have many albums that are irretrievable by conventional means. How do you place a $ value on the last time Michael Hutchence's voice was ever recorded, just days before his untimely death (singing a haunting a cappella version of 'Never Tear Us Apart') ? Or the $ value of hearing The Cramps play live at CBGB, circa 1979? While each of these experiences CAN be assessed a dollar value, this applet cannot take that into consideration.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that value is relative, and mostly subjective.
Therefore, as I've always suspected, my music collection alone is priceless.
