From what the witnesses said, he was 'helping his mother off of the train' when the chase started. After they tackled him to the ground, one cop 'Emptied his gun into his pinned body'.

Or? Cops see a wierd guy who is innocent, chase him, he panics and does the wrong thing (runs), they get their shit in a twist and kill a citizen. For no good reason.

The cops were following this guy for a couple of days, wasn't just a random meeting. He came out of a house under surveilance
Given the climate - It was really stupid of him to do that.

But consider what could be meant by 'under surveillance.'

As Kahuna pointed out to me, he probably had no idea he was under surveillance, so he didn't realize it was a special high-tension moment -- apart from some unmarked dudes pulling guns on him in the very area that had obviously suffered terrorist attacks a few weeks prior.

Obviously, whatever their reasons for any surveillance, they were wrong: he had no link to the bombings. So them claiming 'he was under surveillance' like that's some kind of reason to shoot him work against them, in my thinking.

I wonder if the 'surveillance' thing isn't just retroactive Cover Your Ass verbiage employed by the boss of the dudes who just terrorised and executed an innocent English citizen.

Probably is retroactive CYA verbage - that was not the reason to shoot him, if there is ever a good reason to put five slugs in a guy that was already down, that part was not warranted or nescessary in my opinion and was overkill. Handcuffs would have worked just as well without the deadly side effects. I think the cop did it cause the thought that the guy might detonate something, which would be reasonable counter argument for the behavior, especialy if theree were a lot of people around

But I also have to acknwledge that the dross that set the bombs are hard fuckers to get ahead of time. The cops got a tough job ahead of them and a lot of pressure to make sure that it does not happen again.

The whole situation will likely breed more of this until it stops, but it wont.
In the mean time, if an armed cop tells you to stop, fucking stop

If the cops were dressed in civilian clothing and presented NO credentials to SHOW they were cops - then - yeah, they fucked up real big time. If a guy in normal clothes with short cut hair pointed a gun and told me to stop, I would most likely think he was a thug who planned to mug/kill me - so I'd try to get out of there - even if he shouted 'STOP POLICE' as far as I would be concerned he could just be saying that to get me to stop long enough to shoot me. If they flashed badges and stuff, then the guy was a dumb prick to run from them. A tragic accident really, I can see how cops wouldn’t want to approach someone if they believed them to be a bomber, these guys have a history of exploding – even more of a tragic accident if the guy didn’t speak English and couldn’t understand them (wrong time, wrong place, wrong language – how unlucky can you get).

Here's my opinion for you-It's difficult at best to get intel form a dead suspect, 5 shots to the head was scared and excessive . They got trigger- happy with their shiny new toys, the guy fucked up and he is dead dead dead.
What I'd like to see is some warranted and justifiable actions that will PREVENT the next episode of any magnitude, up to and including torture of legitimate suspects. I'm tired of hearing about scary offical swho got their radar off in the wrong direction and wasted alot of time and resources to violate someone's rights, while we still have any.

I notice that they haven't released the cctv footage of the 'chase'. Until I see that, I'm calling bullsh*t on the cops. This should be easy to resolve.
